Jack Rabbit Electric Cover Lock Installation Instructions

- Lock is mounted vertically on left rear pillar directly under the
Retrax latching mechanism.
- Move the lock up as far as possible on the pillar so that the top
of the white plastic pin holder is 1/4” from the retrax aluminum lock
stop.
- Extend the locking RECL locking pin and position the RECL bracket
so that the pin fits in front of the retrax aluminum lock stop snugly.
- Use the 3 enclosed self tap screws to permanently mount the bracket.
- You can use a 6 to 18 volt DC drill battery to verify that the lock
pin moves up and down freely.
- Connect the short harness to the RECL wires and run into the pillar
and down to the bottom of the truck. You may have to drill a 7/16 hole
for the wires to go thru. Use the enclosed grommet
- Connect the long harness installed in the tailgate by pressing the
2 pin waterproof connectors together.
- Run the harness under thr vehicle as close to the driver's side kick
panel as possible. Use the tie wrap to secure the harness the frame.
Be sure to avoid moving or touching hot parts under the vehicle, ie.
Shocks, springs or muffler pipes
- Drill a 7/16 hole in the floor under the drivers door trim plat and
insert the enclosed grommet. Run the wire thru the grommet.
- It is necessary to connect the 2 wire RECL harness to the to wires
in the vehicle that connect to your electric door lock solenoids. Since
every vehicle is different, please go to the wwwdynolock.net web site.
Check on the electric tailgate lock name. Scroll down until you find
your vehicle and click on the part number. Go to the line that describes
the color and location of your wires.
